Ragged rhythms, Syncopated swing

In this compilation I go back to explore some of the musical genres that I have long loved - classical ragtime, ragtime blues and early jazz. Some of these I have been playing for many years, others are more recent arrangements that I have made or adapted from others and which hopefully capture the feel on solo guitar. It was recorded in the Scottish Borders in 2017. The following three tracks come from this.

Cheek to Cheek is the 1935 song by Irvine Berlin that Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dance to in the film "Top Hat". it is an original arrangement played in normal tuning. Twelfth Street Rag is one of the most famous and best-selling rags of the ragtime era. It was written by Euday L. Bowman in 1914 and was most adeptly reinvented for the guitar by John James in the 1970s. This is loosely based on the James version and is played in normal tuning. Guitar Rag is an early bottleneck rag by Silverster Weaver played in open D tuning (DADFsharpAD).
