Original instrumentals

Keeping Time

An instrumental with a descending bass-line motif played in C 9th tuning (CGCGCD).

One for Mary

This is played in DADGAD tuning, with a standard alternating thumb rhythm but with lots of suspended notes.

Here I have strung a 6-string guitar with the upper set of strings for a 12-string guitar, which makes the third string highest in tone and gives the guitar a very different and bright sound. It is played in normal tuning.

In the Land of the Black Bear

Inspired by a bitter/sweet visit to Russia, this is a three-part tune played in A in a D9th tuning (DADEAD). A version with fiddle can be found on the album D'arcy.
